Herby Hob Garlic Bread

Serves 4

 

1 long French stick of bread

3 tbsp butter, softened or olive oil

4 garlic cloves, crushed

a few washed and chopped herbs such as garlic flowers, fresh thyme, sage, chervil

1 tsp dried thyme, for added flavour

 

Cut the baguette into 2cm thick slices at an angle. 

In a small bowl, mix the butter or oil,  garlic and herbs together. 

Using a knife, apply about half a teaspoon of the herby mixture on each side of the bread slice.

Heat a frying pan on a medium heat. Place the buttered or oiled bread slices in the pan and cook on a low to medium heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until the butter has melted and the toast is lightly golden.
